IMPD croppedNational Public Lands Day (NPLD) is September 24, 2016, and is the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands including parks, trails, and green spaces. Austin’s annual NPLD event is hosted by Austin Parks Foundation and Texas Conservation Corps

Austin Parks Foundation and Texas Conservation Corps invite you to join us to help make our 2016 event our best yet. Choose from projects like tree care, habitat restoration, clean-ups, and more. No matter how you choose to lend a hand for NPLD, you’ll be making a difference.

Help us maintain and improve your local park by volunteering for one of our National Public Lands Day projects. Check out the full list of projects to find one that’s right for you, and be sure to recruit your friends, neighbors and co-workers. The more the merrier! Questions? Check out the volunteer FAQ page, or email us at

Note: National Public Lands Day registration will re-open in summer 2017

Interested in supporting National Public Lands Day? We recruit corporate sponsors to support this event, and many companies also contribute employees’ volunteer time. By pitching in to help with spring maintenance activities such as spreading mulch, planting trees, clearing trails, and painting benches—participants play a significant role in the management and upkeep of our parks. Many of our volunteers become committed stewards of our public spaces by adopting their park and participating in fundraising and park improvement projects throughout the year.
