Austin Parks Foundation is thrilled to offer Park Design Services for Adopt-A-Park groups that are looking to make improvements to their parks. Whether you are looking for a little guidance with an on-site consultant or you need help with long-range planning, we are now offering three design resources that will help you with your favorite park’s design needs.
Park Design Services are intended to provide critical design options to Adopt-A-Park groups at every scale, and the entire program is in complete coordination with the City of Austin’s Parks & Recreation Department.

- Who should apply?
All Adopt-A-Park groups are welcome to apply - When should we apply?
Consultation requests are accepted on a rolling basis and will be reviewed within a week of submittal - How often can groups apply?
Groups may apply and schedule a consultation twice a year - How much time should I allow for a general park consultation?
Typical park consultations last up to an hour and a half
Standard Design Assistance provides Adopt-A-Park groups with access to a professional landscape architect for a specific park improvement project. This program is intended to give the group with a “shovel ready” project that is ready to seek funding through grant applications or other fundraising efforts. Design work includes feasibility, design refinement and cost estimating.

Preference will be given to park projects that:
– show group has limited access to design professional as resource to get their project implemented
– encourage positive use of the park
– have broad community support for improvement project
– have support from PARD for improvement project - Who should apply?
All Adopt-A-Park groups are welcome to apply - When should we apply?
Applications are accepted April 30th and September 30th each year. APF staff is available to pre-screen applications one month in advance of the deadlines.

Preference will be given to parks that:
– Do not have an adopted Park Master Plan
– Show that not having a master plan has been a road block when proposing amenities at their park shows potential to attract a diverse user group and encourage positive use of the park
– Have broad community support for park and seeking master planning process with APF
– Have support from PARD - Who should apply?
