Movies In The Park

Movies In The Park 2017-11-17T16:13:36+00:00

mitp siteMovies in the Park is a series of free films brought to you by Austin Parks Foundation in partnership with Alamo Drafthouse and presented by Carvana. Each year, APF and the Drafthouse bring you free movies in parks all over Austin.

This year – to celebrate our 25th anniversary (and Alamo’s 20th!) – we’re screening an all 1992 series of films. Enjoy a host of family-friendly 90’s throwbacks in parks all over Austin, and check out the full schedule below.

Bring your blanket or lawn chairs (and don’t forget a picnic!) for a fun and relaxing evening under the beautiful Austin night sky. Dogs, on-leash, are welcome. Alcoholic beverages, glass and styrofoam are not permitted in the park. We do provide recycling bins, but ask that you help us out by packing out all of your own trash. Smoking is also prohibited in the park, per city law.

Austin Parks Foundation is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you require special assistance for participation in our programs please call 512-477-1566 or email us at events@austinparks.org.

Frequently Asked Questions

Bike
Consider using pedal power! Ride your own bicycle to the park or consider using Austin B-cycle when stations are within walking distance. Make sure your bicycle is equipped with lights as it is required by law and it will be dark on your ride home. To find the safest bike routes, please visit the City’s bike website or find a hike/bike trail.

Public Transport
If you prefer to use public transportation, please refer to the CapMetro website for bus and train routes, as well as costs.

Ride Sharing
Parking is often limited, especially when movies are held in our downtown parks. Consider carpooling, or try out one of the many ride sharing apps available here in Austin!

Interested in getting your company’s name and logo in front of hundreds of park lovers each season? Consider sponsoring the 2016 Movies in the Park season! It’s a great way to reach the audiences of both APF and the Alamo Drafthouse, and you’ll be helping us serve more of Austin. Contact development@austinparks.org to learn more!
Especially for our Adopt-A-Park groups, Austin Parks Foundation is proud to partner with FunFlicks Outdoor Movies to bring the Movies in a Box program to more parks. This program is only available to current Park Adopters, and includes access to discounted rental rates with FunFlicks. Movies are fantastic community gathering events, they are a great way to celebrate holidays in your neighborhood, and are a way to fundraise for your park through sponsorship solicitations.
