14th Annual It’s My Park Day Breaks Records

Our 14th Annual It’s My Park Day was a resounding success thanks to our project leaders, volunteers, partners and sponsors. From clean-ups to trail repairs, habitat restoration to painting, this year’s It’s My Park Day has set the record as the largest to date! We are so proud to work with the best volunteers around, and are grateful to all of our partners and sponsors who have helped us make this event a success year after year.

In the words of Sara Hensley – Director of Parks & Recreation – “This is how you build community!” We were so glad to welcome Sara, along with Mayor Steve Adler, Mayor Pro Tem Kathie Tovo, and Congressman Lloyd Doggett at Republic Square Park to share in the celebration of It’s My Park Day, and give a special thank you to the volunteers at Austin’s oldest public park in the shade of the historic auction oaks.

Thanks for sharing in the work, spreading the love (and mulch!) and building community with your friends and neighbors in some of Austin’s most important assets – our parks! Read on to see just how big of an impact It’s My Park Day 2016 has made, and be sure to tag us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in your #ItsMyParkDay photos!
