Downtown Parks Initiative
Austin Parks Foundation continues to work to revitalize Austin's three historic downtown parks: Republic Square, Brush Square and Wooldridge Square.
Along with ongoing programing and advocacy, current Austin Parks Foundation endeavors include:
- Republic Square - Completed Phases 1a and 1b of the Auction Oaks at Republic Square project, resulting in $450,000 worth of improvements thanks to our amazing donors and supporters.
- Brush Square - Art in Public Places Courtyard project construction - July and August 2010 as well as additional Root Zone RX treatments for two of our stately oaks.
- Wooldridge Square - tree treatments for 13 trees, repainting the historic gazebo.
Thanks to partnerships with the City of Austin Parks & Recreation Department and the Downtown Austin Alliance, the Austin Parks Foundation is able to make continuing efforts to improve and restore these important urban greenspaces.
