Programs
Austin Parks Foundation's major ongoing programs are:
- Action for Parks: APF takes a hands-on approach to park improvement. Action for Parks brings together the resources needed to create and sustain change in parks that are overused and under funded. Through a mix of volunteer labor, in-kind donations from local contractors, cash donations and grant dollars, APF plans to make substantial improvements to parks in need.
- Services for Park Partners: APF provides the tools to let citizens participate in the maintenance and revitalization of parks. Services include Adopt-A-Park assistance, Grants large and small, Fiduciary Services, and the Tool Trailer.
- Downtown Parks Initiative: APF makes a continuing effort to guide and advocate for the programming, preservation and redevelopment of Austin's historic downtown parks.
- Trails Network: Austin Parks Foundation is building a coalition of citizens, non-profits, and government representatives to advocate for and facilitate the expansion of the trails network in the Austin area.
- Ecological Restoration: Austin Parks Foundation has prioritized invasive plant removal and native plant restoration in Austin's parks and greenbelts.
- Advocacy: Whether it's bonds, budgets, or bills, APF takes an active, collaborative role in speaking up for parks.
