The second annual Austin Oyster Adventure Race will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2008.
Last year, 33 teams of between 3 and 6 people each biked, ran, and rolled up to 50 miles, while taking pictures of Austin monuments, collecting items, picking up rocks, dressing in costumes, and more--all to benefit the Austin Parks Foundation.
This year's course will feature a whole new set of fun and challenging adventures. You'll visit a variety of Austin landmarks, including some of our favorite parks and trails. The exact course details and the number of challenges are, of course, secret. We think the surprises make the race even more exciting!

We need you to form a team to compete for prizes and glory while raising funds for the Austin Parks Foundation. Last year, we received several thousand dollars to help fund our work and we hope to do even better this year.
There are three different types of teams you can participate in. Even children are invited as part of the Family Fun division! Check out the team types and registration fees in the sidebar at right.
Types of Teams and Fees:
Traditional Race (3-Person Team)The standard team of three people (plus one optional support person) will participate in a series of stages or "passports". All three members must finish each passport. There will be mens, womens, and co-ed divisions.
Early Registration through 9/12: $99 application fee per team + a minimum of $300 in pledges
After 9/12 : $150 + a minimum of $300 in pledges
6-Pack
The 6-Pack allows team members to choose which passports they participate in. A minimum of three out of six team members must finish each passport. (This is good if, for example, one team member likes biking but not running.)
Early Registration before 9/12: $198 application fee per team + a minimum of $500 in pledges
After 9/12: $300 + a minimum of $500
in pledges
Family Fun Division:
The Family Fun Division allows three-person teams including a child or children to participate in specially selected, family-friendly passports.
Early Registration through 9/12: $50 application fee per team + a minimum of $100 in pledges
