Giant Chess
Giant Chess is available for public use at Brush Square, every Saturday, from 12:30pm-3:30pm (subject to availability of the park). To find out more contact Michael McGill. Austin Parks Foundation's Giant Chess program is a part of our commitment to encouraging Austinites to get out and play in downtown parks.
Every October, there is a Giant Chess Youth Tournament at Wooldridge Square. Participants of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate.

Imagination Playgound
Austin Parks Foundation is proud to present our imagination playground, an adaptable playscape designed to encourage unstructured free play. The imagination playground "is different because everything can be invented, reinvented, and this is critical for how kids learn," says Susan Solomon, author of American Playgrounds: Revitalizing Community Space. "This enables kids to make their own decisions, to see cause and effect by building up, destroying, building again."
The imagination playground will be at the Republic Square Farmers' Market on most Saturday mornings from 9:00am - 1:00pm.
