Bright Leaf is a natural area managed by Friends of Bright Leaf and held by the Austin Community Foundation. It is available for guided hikes only. Guided hikes are available on the second Saturday and second Sunday of each month.

Description: The Matthew and Hazeline Smith Trail is now open for hiking, running and biking. Interpretive signage identifies the many plants and animals you might spot along the trail.

This trail was built through the dedicated efforts of volunteers and the Bull Creek Foundation. Please be aware that dogs, fishing, swimming and picnicking are forbidden on Water Quality Protection Lands.
