This park is home to the new, volunteer built Patterson Park skate spot! Skateboards and bikes are welcome. There is a skate spot was built with funds raised by Austin Skatepark Action Committee and a grant from the Austin Parks Foundation. As of August, 2008, the spot is fenced off to allow the grass to grow some sturdy roots and prevent erosion. Once the grass is stable, the site will be opened, hopefully in early to mid-September. This delay ensures the long-term viability of the structure!
